Abstract

본 발명은 점토 및 층간산재 성분으로서 이용되는 해초 추출물, 특히 갈파래 추출물을 포함하는 층간산재된 점토에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 또한 이의 제조방법 그리고 상기 층간산재된 점토를 포함하는 식량 및 나노복합체에 관한 것이다.

Description

층간산재된 점토{INTERSPERSED CLAYS}
본 발명은 점토 및 조류 추출물을 기반으로 하는 조성물에 관한 것이다.
점토(clay)는 다소간 수화된 판상 실리케이트(필로실리케이트(phyllosilicate))로 주로 구성되는 암석이다. 필로실리케이트는 오르토실리케이트 음이온의 화합물로서, 여기에서 4면체들은 그들 사이에 3개의 산소를 공유하며, 4번째는 이 방식으로 형성된 판(sheet)의 같은 쪽을 항상 향하고 있다. 그 구조는 8면체와 4면체의 두 가지 유형의 기하학적 형상을 갖는 2차원 조립체로서 나타내어질 수 있다. 이 방식으로 3가지 유형의 필로실리케이트가 정의된다:
- 소위 1:1 필로실리케이트, 그 판은 4면체층과 8면체층의 병치로 구성된다. 이 유형의 판의 두께는 0.70nm이다. 카올리나이트가 이 군의 가장 대표적인 화합물이다.
- 소위 2:1 필로실리케이트, 그 판은 2개의 4면체층 사이의 8면체층으로 구성된다. 이 유형의 판의 두께는 0.96nm이다.
- 소위 2:1:1 필로실리케이트, 그 판은 층상 공간(interlamellar space) 내 브루사이트 Mg(OH)2 또는 깁사이트 Al(OH)3의 층으로 구성된다. 이 유형의 판의 두 께는 1.4nm이다.
2:1 필로실리케이트가 그 구조에 기인하여 가장 유리한 성질을 갖는다. 판의 4면체층의 공동은 실질적으로 실리콘 이온을 함유하며 8면체층의 공동은 알루미늄 또는 마그네슘 이온을 함유한다. 그러나, 다수의 치환이 상이한 층 내에 일어날 수 있다. 실리콘 이온은 3가 양이온에 의해 치환된다. 알루미늄 또는 마그네슘 이온은 3가 또는 2가 이온에 의해 치환된다. 이들 치환은 판 내에 과량의 음전하를 도입한다. 이는 엽간 공간(interfoliar space) 내 양이온의 존재에 의해 보상된다. 이들 양이온은 무기 또는 유기 기원의 다른 양이온으로 교환될 수 있다. 따라서 엽간 공간의 두께는 목적하는 응용에 따라 조정할 수 있다. 따라서, 다음과 같은 필로실리케이트의 구조를 변경하는 다양한 방법들이 이용되어 왔다:
- 가교 방법 : 먼저 엽간 양이온을 폴리양이온으로 대체하고(알루미늄 [Al13O4(OH)24(H2O)12]7+ (Diddams P.A., Thomas, J.M., Jones, W., Ballantine, J.A. and Purnell, J. (1984), Chem. Soc. Chem. Commun., 106, 1340), 지르코늄 [Zr4(OH)12(H2O)12]4+ (Yamanaka S. and Brindley, G.W. ? 마이크로복합체로 지칭되는 복합체. 여기에서 중합체는 필로실리케이트의 엽간 공간 내에 침투하지 않는다. 이는 강화물로서 작용한다.
? 층간개재된(intercalated)(층간산재된(interspersed)) 나노복합체. 여기에서 중합체는 판 사이에 삽입된다.
? 박리된(exfoliated) 나노복합체. 여기에서 나노미터 크기의 판은 중합체 기재 내에 완전히 분산되어, 미시 규모에서 일체형(monolithic) 구조를 형성한다.
박리된 나노복합체는 필로실리케이트/중합체 상호작용이 최대가 되어 판의 전체 표면적이 이용가능한 한, 특히 유리하다. 따라서, 기계적, 내화성, 열적 안정 성 및 장벽 성질(기체 및 탄화수소에 대한 투과성)의 관점에서의 성질이 개선될 수 있다.
나노복합체를 얻는 주요한 방법은 다음과 같다: 현장(in situ) 중합에 의해 (Okada, A. Kawasumi, M., Usuki, A. Kojima, Y., Kurauchi, T. and Kamigaito (1990) Mater. Res. Soc. Pro., 171, 45.): 먼저 친유기성 필로실리케이트를 단량체 용액 내에서 팽윤시키고, 다음으로 여기에 중합을 개시하기 위해 처리제를 첨가하는 것을 포함하는 2단계 방법. 팽윤 동안, 극성 단량체 분자는 판들 사이로 확산하게 된다. 엽간 공간에 존재하는 알킬암모늄 이온은 단량체와의 상호작용을 최적화하기 위해 판에 대해 수직으로 향하게 된다. 처리제의 첨가는 중합을 일으키고 이는 필로실리케이트의 박리를 유도한다.

본 발명의 내용에서, 용어 "조류"는 수용성인 폴리사카라이드를 포함하는 모든 해조 식물류 그리고 특히 갈파래(ulva) 유형의 조류(갈파래 조류(ulvas algae))를 지칭하고자 한다. 이 조류는 연안, 특히 대서양 및 지중해 연안에서 증식하는 것으로 알려져 있으며, 따라서 녹조 현상(green tide)으로 지칭된다. 이는 입수가능하고 용이하게 접근가능하며, 그 가치가 연구되고 있는 원료를 구성한다.
더 나아가, 이 조류로부터 추출되는 어떤 성분, 특히 수용성 폴리사카라이드는 영양분으로서 그리고 화장료 및 의약에서의 중합체 물질로서 유리하다.

점토와 조류 추출물간의 층간산재는 점토와 조류 추출물을 수상에서 0.1 내지 80, 바람직하게는 1 내지 30, 더욱 바람직하게는 2 내지 15의 점토/조류 추출물의 중량비(건조 추출물)로 혼합하여 바람직하게 수행한다.
다른 양태에 따르면, 본 발명은
i) 조류 추출물 수용액을 제조하는 단계;
ii) 추출물을 충분한 시간 동안 적절한 용매 내에서 점토와 접촉시키는 단계; 및
iii) 얻어진 층간개재된 점토를 분리하는 단계
를 포함하는 조류 추출물을 이용한 층간개재된 점토의 제조방법에 관한 것이다.
점토/조류 추출물 혼합물의 교반 시간은 30초 내지 72시간, 바람직하게는 1분 내지 36시간 그리고 더욱더 바람직하게는 2분 내지 24시간이다. 혼합 후에, 현탁액의 고체상을 분리, 예컨대 원심분리한다. 수집한 고체를 세척 및 건조한다.
이 방식으로 조류 추출물로 층간개재되는 점토는 최대 30Å이 될 수 있는 판들 사이의 간격을 갖는다. 이 큰 간격은 많은 수의 응용에 대해 이를 매우 유리하게 만든다.
특히, 이는 변형되지 않은 상태에서, 다른 물질들이 잡기 어려운 방대한 수의 화합물의 흡수제로서 작용할 수 있다. 이 유형의 화합물은 특히 일종의 독소, 예컨대 마이코톡신(mycotoxin)을 포함한다. 이 방식으로, 기술한 층간개재된 점토는 동물 또는 인간 식량에서의 보충물로서 이용할 수 있다.

이 성질은 식량 내 0.01 내지 1 중량% 수준의 층간개재된 점토의 혼입으로 식량 수율을 개선하기 위해 동물 식량에서 특히 이용할 수 있다.
따라서, 다른 양태에 따르면, 본 발명은 바람직하게는 0.01 내지 2 중량%, 그리고 특히 0.05 내지 1 중량%의 상기 기술한 바와 같은 층간개재된 점토를 포함하는 동물 식량에 관한 것이다.
판의 간격은 또한 예컨대 화학적 또는 생화학적 반응을 활성화하기 위한 라디칼의 그래프팅과 같은 다른 기능성이 엽간 간격에 접근할 수 있도록 해 준다.
본 발명으로부터 기원하는 생성물은 접근가능한 엽간 공간을 가지며, 이는 다른 중합체에 의한 층간개재의 경우에 관찰될 수 있는 것과 대조된다(Intercalation of chitosan or extract of crustacean shells in a clay, M. Darder et al., Chem. 본 발명을 다음 실시예에 의해 보다 자세히 설명하고자 한다.
실시예 1
4면체 치환 수준 0.4를 갖는 Na 몬모릴로나이트의 제조(M. Reinholdt, J. Miehe-Brendle, L. Delmotte, A.-M. Flank, R. Cortes, M.-H. Tuilier. and R. Le Dred, Eur. J. Inorg. Chem., 2001, 11, 2831).
화학식 Na0 .4[Al1 .6Mg0 .4]Si4O10(OH1 .8F0.2)를 갖는 몬모릴로나이트를 다음 방식으로 제조한다:
5% 불산(HF, Fluka) 수용액 8.1g을 자석 교반과 함께 PTFE의 비이커 내에 위치한 증류수 685.86g에 첨가한다. 아세트산 마그네슘(Mg(CH3COO)2, Aldrich) 8.64g, 아세트산 나트륨 1.74g(NaCH3COO, Fluka), 수도보마이트(pseudobohmite)(Al2O3, Condea) 10.53g 및 실리카(SiO2 Aerosil 130, Degussa) 24.3g을 교반과 함께 반응 매질에 차례로 첨가한다. 전체를 2시간 동안 대기 온도에서 교반하며 성숙시킨 후, PTFE로 코팅된 압력 용기 내에 붓고 220℃에서 72시간 동안 오븐 내에 두었다. 다음으로, 압력 용기를 대기 온도로 냉각시키고 반응 생성물을 뷰흐너를 통해 여과하였다. 증류수로 3회 세척한 뒤, 생성물을 24시간 동안 60℃에서 건조한다.
실시예 2
얼베인(ulvane)의 제조
얼베인의 추출방법(Lahaye, M., Birnalendu R., Baumberger, S., Quernener, B. and Axelos, M. (1996) Hydrobiologia, 326/327, 473).
건조 및 분쇄한 갈파래(ulva) 34.4g의 물 500mL 내 현탁액을 1시간 동안 환류시킨다. 현탁액을 원심분리하고(10.24xg, 20분) 불용물을 회수한 뒤, 앞과 같은 조건하에서 다시 추출한다. 현탁액을 원심분리한다. 이들 두 추출물의 두 상층액을 조합하고 여과한 뒤, 용액 내 얼베인을 95℃에서 알코올 내에서 침전시킨다. 생성물을 건조한다.
실시예 3
합성 Na-몬모릴로나이트의 엽간 공간 내 얼베인의 혼입
실시예 1에 따라 제조한 Na-몬모릴로나이트의 1g을 증류수 100mL 내 현탁액에 위치시킨다(용액 A). 전체를 자석 교반하에서 대기 온도에서 24시간 동안 둔다. 이와 함께, 실시예 2에 따라 제조한 얼베인 5g을 증류수 50mL 내에 자석 교반과 함께 주위 온도에서 24시간 동안 분산시킨다(용액 B). 다음으로, 용액 A를 용액 B와 혼합하고, 전체를 자석 교반하에서 주위 온도에서 24시간 동안 둔다. 다음으로, 현 탁액을 10분간 원심분리한다(20000rpm의 속도로). 다음으로, 수집한 고체를 증류수 20mL 내 현탁액에 위치시킨 뒤, 원심분리로 분리한다. 이 세척을 2회 반복한다. 다음으로, 고체를 공기에서 24시간 동안 건조한다. 이 방식으로 형성한 생성물은 유기 물질을 29% 함유한다. 엽간 공간은 3.8nm이다.

Claims (15)

  1. 점토(clay) 및 층간개재(intercalation) 화합물로서 조류 추출물을 포함하는 층간개재된 점토.
  2. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 조류 추출물은 갈파래 조류(ulva algae) 추출물인 점토.
  3. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 조류 추출물은 얼베인(ulvane)을 포함하는 점토.
  4. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 조류 추출물은 80 중량% 초과의 얼베인을 포함하는 점토.
  5. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 점토는 판상(sheet) 점토인 점토.
  6. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 점토는 팽윤성을 갖는 점토.
  7. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 점토는 몬모릴로나이트인 점토.
  8. 제1항에 있어서,
    0.1 내지 80의 점토/조류 추출물 중량비로 상기 점토 및 조류 추출물을 포함하는 점토.
  9. i) 조류 추출물 수용액을 제조하는 단계;
    ii) 상기 추출물을 기설정된 시간 동안 용매 내에서 점토와 접촉시키는 단계; 및
    iii) 얻어진 층간개재된 점토를 분리하는 단계;를 포함하는 조류 추출물을 이용한 층간개재된 점토의 제조방법.
  10. 동물 및 인간 식량, 화장료, 의약, 플라스틱 기술에서의, 도로 포장 및 겉포장에 사용하기 위한 제1항에 따른 층간 개제된 점토.
  11. 제1항에 따른 층간개재된 점토를 0.01 내지 2 중량% 포함하는 동물 식량.
  12. 제1항에 따른 층간개재된 점토 및 천연 또는 합성 중합체를 포함하는 나노복합체.
  13. 제8항에 있어서,
    상기 점토/조류 추출물 중량비는 1 내지 30인 점토.
  14. 제8항에 있어서,
    상기 점토/조류 추출물 중량비는 2 내지 15인 점토.
  15. 제11항에 있어서,
    제1항에 따른 층간개재된 점토를 0.05 내지 1 중량% 포함하는 동물 식량.
