Claims (40)
- 휴대용 통신 디바이스에서 혼합 미디어 통신 포맷의 선택의 방법으로서,상기 휴대용 통신 디바이스에 의해, 상기 휴대용 통신 디바이스의 속도를 포함하는 상기 휴대용 통신 디바이스의 위치 조건들에 기초하여, 혼합 미디어 통신 포맷들 중에서 들어오는 콜(incoming call)에 대한 선호되는 포맷을 결정하는 단계 - 상기 혼합 미디어 통신 포맷들은 텍스트 포맷과 가청 스피치(audible speech) 포맷을 포함함 -; 및상기 휴대용 통신 디바이스에 의해, 상기 들어오는 콜에 대한 상기 선호되는 포맷을 나타내는 미디어 포맷 모드 신호를 송신하는 단계를 포함하는 방법.

- 제1항에 있어서,고 시스템 용량의 표시를 수신하는 단계;상기 고 시스템 용량의 표시를 수신하는 것에 기초하여 단지 텍스트 포맷 통신만을 수신하는 옵션을 선택하도록 상기 휴대용 통신 디바이스의 사용자를 프롬프팅(prompting)하는 단계; 및상기 프롬프팅에 응답하여 상기 사용자로부터 텍스트 포맷 선택을 수신하는 단계를 더 포함하고,상기 결정 단계에서는 상기 텍스트 포맷 선택에 기초하여 상기 들어오는 콜에 대한 상기 선호되는 포맷이 텍스트 포맷인 것으로 결정하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 결정 단계에서는 상기 휴대용 통신 디바이스의 사용자에 의해 선택되는 무성 모드(silent mode)에 기초하여 상기 들어오는 콜에 대한 포맷이 텍스트 포맷인 것으로 결정하는 방법.

- 혼합 미디어 통신 포맷의 선택을 위한 시스템으로서,네트워크; 및상기 네트워크에 결합된 제어기 - 상기 제어기는, 콜 발신자로부터의 콜의 포맷을 판정하고, 콜 수취자의 선택 조건들에 기초하여 상기 콜 수취자를 위한 상기 콜의 선택된 포맷을 결정하고, 상기 콜 발신자로부터의 상기 콜의 포맷이 상기 콜 수취자를 위한 상기 콜의 상기 선택된 콜 포맷과 매칭하지 않을 때 상기 콜의 포맷을 상기 선택된 포맷으로 변환하고, 상기 콜 수취자에게 상기 선택된 포맷의 상기 콜을 송신하도록 구성됨 -를 포함하며,상기 제어기는 또한, 고 시스템 용량의 표시를 판정하고, 상기 고 시스템 용량의 판정을 수신하는 하는 것에 기초하여 휴대용 통신 디바이스의 사용자에게 텍스트 포맷 통신만을 수신하는 옵션을 선택하도록 프롬프팅하며, 상기 프롬프팅에 응답하여 상기 사용자로부터 텍스트 포맷 선택을 수신하도록 구성되며, 상기 제어기는 또한, 상기 텍스트 포맷 선택에 기초하여, 들어오는 콜의 선호 포맷이 텍스트 포맷인 것으로 결정하도록 구성되는 시스템.
- 제19항에 있어서,상기 제어기는, 상기 선택된 포맷에 기초하여 상기 콜의 포맷을 변경하도록 상기 콜 발신자에게 프롬프팅하기 위해 상기 콜 발신자에게 미디어 포맷 교섭 신호를 송신하여 상기 콜의 포맷을 변환하는 시스템.
- 제19항에 있어서,상기 제어기는 또한, 특정 유형들의 미디어를 지원하는 콜 수취자 통신 디바이스 능력에 기초하여 상기 콜의 포맷을 결정하도록 구성되는 시스템.
- 제19항에 있어서,상기 제어기는 또한, 현재 시스템 용량에 기초하여 들어오는 콜에 대한 포맷을 결정하도록 구성되는 시스템.
- 제19항에 있어서,상기 제어기는, 상기 제어기가 상기 콜의 포맷이 텍스트 포맷이고 상기 콜의 상기 선택된 포맷이 가청 포맷이라고 결정할 때, 상기 콜에 대해 텍스트-대-스피치(text-to-speech) 변환을 수행하여 상기 콜의 포맷을 변환하는 시스템.
- 제23항에 있어서,상기 제어기는 또한, 상기 콜 발신자로부터의 통신을 기다리는 동안 상기 콜의 수취자에게 배경 신호를 송신하도록 구성되는 시스템.
- 제19항에 있어서,상기 제어기는, 상기 제어기가 상기 콜의 포맷이 가청 포맷이고 상기 콜의 선택된 포맷이 텍스트 포맷이라고 결정할 때, 상기 콜에 대해 스피치-대-텍스트(speech-to-text) 변환을 수행하여 상기 콜의 포맷을 변환하는 시스템.
- 제19항에 있어서,상기 제어기는, 상기 콜 수취자에게 상기 콜 발신자의 상기 콜의 포맷을 수용할 것을 요청함으로써, 상기 콜 수취자의 선택 조건들에 기초하여 상기 콜 수취자에 대한 상기 콜의 선택된 포맷을 결정하는 시스템.
- 제19항에 있어서,상기 제어기는, 상기 콜 발신자에게 혼합 미디어 콜 포맷을 수용할 것을 요청함으로써, 상기 콜 수취자의 선택 조건들에 기초하여 상기 콜 수취자에 대한 상기 콜의 선택된 포맷을 결정하는 시스템.
- 제19항에 있어서,상기 제어기는 또한, 상기 콜 발신자로부터의 상기 콜의 포맷이 상기 콜 수취자에 대한 상기 콜의 상기 선택된 콜 포맷과 매칭하지 않으면, 상기 콜을 종료하도록 상기 콜 발신자와 상기 콜 수취자 중의 하나에게 프롬프팅하도록 구성되는 시스템.
