Claims (5)
- 광원과,상기 광원으로부터의 광속을 특정의 편향 방향을 갖는 광속으로 변환하는 편광 변환소자와,상기 편광 변환소자로부터의 광속을 그 편광 상태에 의거하여 분리하는 편광 빔 스플리터와,편광 빔 스플리터로부터의 광속에 위상차를 부여하는 위상판을 구비하고,조명 광학계는, 상기 위상판을 거친 광속으로 피조명 면을 조명하고,상기 위상판의 빠른 축 또는 느린 축과 직교하며, 상기 편광 빔 스플리터로 광속을 반사해 분리하는 방향을 x방향으로 하고, 상기 위상판의 빠른 축 또는 느린 축과 직교하며, 상기 x방향과 직교하는 방향을 y방향으로 하고, 상기 피조명 면에 입사하는 조명광속의 x방향에 있어서의 최대 입사각도를 θx, y방향에 있어서의 최대 입사각도를 θy로 하며, 상기 위상판으로의 상기 광속의 입사각도로서 상기 위상판을 통과하는 광속의 주파장에 있어서의 위상차가 90도가 되는 입사각도를 φy로 할 때,θx < θyO도 < φy ≤ θy되는 조건을 만족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 조명 광학계.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 광원으로부터의 광속을 복수의 광속으로 분리하는 광속 분리 부재를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 조명 광학계.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 최대 입사각도 θy와, 입사각도 φy는,10도 < θyθy/2 < φy ≤ θy되는 조건을 만족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 조명 광학계.
- 화상 표시소자와,상기 화상 표시소자를 조명하는 조명 광학계와,상기 화상 표시소자로부터의 광속을, 피투사면 위에 투사하는 투사 광학계를 구비하고,상기 조명 광학계는,광원과,상기 광원으로부터의 광속을 특정의 편광방향을 갖는 광속으로 변환하는 편광 변환소자와,상기 편광 변환소자로부터의 광속을 그 편광상태에 의거하여 분리하는 편광 빔 스플리터와,편광 빔 스플리터로부터의 광속에 위상차를 부여하는 위상판을 구비하며,상기 조명 광학계는, 상기 위상판을 거친 광속으로 상기 화상 표시 소자를 조명하고,상기 위상판의 빠른 축 또는 느린 축과 직교하며, 상기 편광 빔 스플리터로 광속을 반사해 분리하는 방향을 x방향으로 하고, 상기 위상판의 빠른 축 또는 느린 축과 직교하며, 상기 x방향과 직교하는 방향을 y방향으로 하고, 상기 피조명면에 입사하는 조명광속의 x방향에 있어서의 최대 입사각도를 θx, y방향에 있어서의 최대 입사각도를 θy로 하고, 상기 위상판으로의 상기 광속의 입사각도로서 상기 위상판을 통과하는 광속의 주파장에 있어서의 위상차가 90도가 되는 입사각도를 φy로 할 때,θx < θyO도 < φy ≤ θy되는 조건을 만족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 투사장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 화상 표시소자는, 반사형의 액정 표시소자인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 투사장치.
