Claims (12)
- 하기 화학식 1의 하나 이상의 화합물 및 하기 화학식 2의 하나 이상의 화합물을 포함함을 특징으로 하는, 양의(positive) 유전 이방성을 갖는 극성 화합물의 혼합물을 기제로 하는 액정 매질:화학식 1화학식 2상기 식에서,R, R* 및 R**는 각각 서로 독립적으로 치환되지 않거나 CN 또는 CF3에 의해 단일 치환되거나 또는 할로겐에 의해 적어도 단일 치환되고, 임의적으로는 하나 이상의 CH2 기가 산소원자가 함께 직접 연결되지 않는 방식으로 -O-, -S-, , -CO-, -CO-O-, -O-CO- 또는 -O-CO-O-로 대체되는, 1 내지 12개의 탄소원자를 갖는 알킬 또는 알케닐 라디칼이고,L은 H 또는 F이고,Y는 F, Cl, CN, 9개 이하의 탄소원자를 갖는 할로겐화된 알킬, 할로겐화된 알케닐옥시, 할로겐화된 알콕시 또는 할로겐화된 알케닐이며,z는 1 또는 2이다.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,하기 화학식 3 내지 9의 화합물로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 하나 이상의 화합물을 추가로 포함함을 특징으로 하나, 이 때 화학식 3 및 5의 화합물이 화학식 1의 화합물과 동일하지 않은 매질:화학식 3화학식 4화학식 5화학식 6화학식 7화학식 8화학식 9상기 식에서,R0은 각각 9개 이하의 탄소원자를 갖는 n-알킬, 옥사알킬, 플루오로알킬, 알케닐옥시 또는 알케닐이고,X0은 각각 F, Cl, 1 내지 6개의 탄소원자를 갖는 할로겐화 알킬, 알케닐 또는 알콕시이고,Z0은 -C2H4-, -CF=CF-, -CH2O-, -OCH2-, -CF2 O-, -OCF2- 또는 -C2F4-이며,Y1 내지 Y4는 각각 서로 독립적으로 H 또는 F이고,r은 0 또는 1이다.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,전체 혼합물중 화학식 1 및 2의 화합물의 비가 10 내지 100중량%임을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 있어서,전체 혼합물중 화학식 3 내지 9의 화합물의 비가 10 내지 50중량%임을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서,화학식 2의 화합물을 둘 또는 셋 포함함을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 2 항 또는 제 3 항에 있어서,X0이 F 또는 OCF3이고, Y2가 H 또는 F임을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서,화학식 1의 화합물에서 L이 F임을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 3 항중 어느 한 항에 있어서,화학식 1의 화합물중에 존재하는 Y가 F, Cl, CN, CF3, CF2H, OCF3, OCF2H, OCFHCF3, OCFHCFH2, OCFHCF2H, OCF2CH3, OCF2CFH2, OCF2CF2H, OCF2CF2CF2H, OCF2CF2CFH2, OCFHCF2CF3, OCFHCF2CF2H, OCF2CF2CF3, OCF2CHFCF3, OCCIFCF2CF3 또는 OCH=CF2임을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 삭제
- 제 1 항에 따른 액정 매질을 포함하는 전광 액정 디스플레이.
