Abstract
Description
Claims (6)
- 乗り物の運転手に対して虚像を表示するヘッドアップディスプレイ装置であって、
バックライトと、
前記バックライトからの光が入射し、透過して映像光を出射させる液晶表示パネルと、
前記映像光を被投射部材で反射させることで前記映像光による虚像を前記乗り物の前方に表示する虚像光学系と、
赤外線を吸収しかつ可視光を透過させる光学特性を有し、樹脂を用いて形成された波長選択部材と、
前記虚像光学系及び前記波長選択部材を収容する筐体と、
前記筐体に設けられた前記映像光が出射する開口部と、
を備え、
前記虚像光学系は、前記液晶表示パネルにおける前記映像光の出射面に近い位置から順に、前記映像光の出射方向に沿って配置されたレンズユニットと自由曲面ミラーと、を含み、
前記波長選択部材は、前記液晶表示パネルにおける前記映像光の出射面から前記筐体の前記開口部に至る前記映像光の光路上に配置される、
ことを特徴とするヘッドアップディスプレイ装置。 - 請求項1に記載のヘッドアップディスプレイ装置であって、
前記開口部を覆う防眩板を更に備え、
前記波長選択部材は、前記映像光の光路上における、前記防眩板と前記自由曲面ミラーとの間、前記自由曲面ミラーと前記レンズユニットの間、又は前記レンズユニットと前記液晶表示パネルとの間のいずれかに配置される、
ことを特徴とするヘッドアップディスプレイ装置。 - 請求項1又は2に記載のヘッドアップディスプレイ装置であって、
前記液晶表示パネルは、前記バックライトからの光が入射する第1偏光板と、当該第1偏光板に当接する液晶層と、当該液晶層における前記第1偏光板との当接面とは反対側の面に当接する第2偏光板とを含んで構成され、
前記第1偏光板及び前記第2偏光板のそれぞれは、前記液晶層に対して平行に配置され、
前記第2偏光板の偏光軸は前記第1偏光板の偏光軸に対して略90°異なる配置とし、かつ前記第2偏光板の偏光軸は、前記波長選択部材に前記映像光が入射して生じる複屈折に起因する偏光方向と一致する、
ことを特徴とするヘッドアップディスプレイ装置。 - 請求項3に記載のヘッドアップディスプレイ装置であって、
前記第1偏光板及び前記第2偏光板は、染料系偏光板を用いて形成される、
ことを特徴とするヘッドアップディスプレイ装置。 - 請求項4に記載のヘッドアップディスプレイ装置であって、
前記バックライトは、
LED光源と、
前記LED光源からの発散光を取り込んで略平行光に変換するコリメートレンズを含むライトファネルと、を含む、
ことを特徴とするヘッドアップディスプレイ装置。 - 乗り物の運転手に対して虚像を表示するヘッドアップディスプレイ装置であって、
バックライトと、
前記バックライトからの光が入射し、透過して映像光が出射する液晶表示パネルと、
前記映像光を被投射部材で反射させることで前記映像光による虚像を前記乗り物の前方に表示する虚像光学系と、
前記虚像光学系を収容する筐体と、
前記筐体に設けられた前記映像光が出射する開口部と、
を備え、
前記虚像光学系は、前記液晶表示パネルにおける前記映像光の出射面に近い位置から順に、前記映像光の出射方向に沿って配置されたレンズユニットと自由曲面ミラーと、を含み、
前記レンズユニットは、赤外線を吸収しかつ可視光を透過させる光学特性を有する樹脂を用いて形成される、
ことを特徴とするヘッドアップディスプレイ装置。
