Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body high in sensitivity and small in deterioration of electric chargeability due to preexposure fatigue and freed of rise of residual potential even in repeated cycles of charging and exposure by incorporating nitrobenzene in a layer with a charge generating material dispersed in it. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is formed by successively laminating a charge generating layer 1 and a charge transfer layer 2 or the layer 2 and the layer 1 in the reverse order on a conductive substrate 3, and the charge generating layer 1 contains the charge generating material, preferably, such as azo benzenes, and the nitrobenzene in an amount of >=0.01wt.%, preferably, 1wt.% of the charge generating material, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be high in sensitivity and extremely reduced in deterioration of chargeable potential due to preexposure fatigue, and freed of rise of residual potential even in the repeated cycles of charging and exposure.
