Abstract

PURPOSE:To form uniform films which are not stuck with foreign matter with good time efficiency and to produce a large-sized large-capacity liquid crystal device having high reliability at a low cost by forming the oriented films of the liquid crystal device by a heat treatment on a hot plate. CONSTITUTION:Transparent conductive films are formed on transparent substrates 11a, 11b consisting of a transparent material and plural transparent electrodess 12a, 12b which are subjected to the insulation treatment from each other are formed by acid etching on the conductive films. Ink prepd. by dissolv ing the material for forming the oriented films 13a, 13b in N-methyl 2 pyrrolidone is then selectively printed and transferred on the surfaces of the electrodess 12a, 12b to form the thin films. The substrates 11a, 11b formed with the thin films are quickly transferred onto the hot plate and are heat- treated, by which the oriented films 13a, 13b are formed. The oriented films 13a, 13b are formed of polyimide, PVA, polyamide, polyimide and the deriv. thereof. The large-sized large-capacity liquid crystal device is prepd. at low cost with high reliability.
