Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a compact device which provides high-density display by providing a multilayer liquid-crystal panel on a circuit substrate surface and then by connecting terminal electrodes, provided on the reverse surface of the circuit substrate, to connection terminals of the liquid-crystal panel by winding a wiring film, which can thermally be press bonded, around the end face of the circuit substrate. CONSTITUTION:In case of a two-layer panel having liquid-crystal layer 26 on ceramic substrate 27, e.g. among transparent substrates 8, 9 and 10, equipped with beltlike row electrodes 18 and 19 and provided with polarizing plates 22 and 23 and reflecting plate 24 in the terminal connecting method for a matrix type liquid-crystal display device having perpendicular beltlike electrodes, especially a multilayer liquid-crystal panel, wiring electrodes 28 and 29 of substrate 27 equipped with IC and ISI30 are connected to the 1st layer column electrode 21 and the 2nd layer column electrode 20 by winding the end face of substrate 27 with wiring film 14 (using a polyester film as its base) which can thermally be press bonded. Consequently, electrodes 20 and 29, and 21 and 28 can be connected without projecting in the panel lateral direction, so that the liquid-crystal display device can be made compact.
