Abstract

PURPOSE:To compensate defective picture elements with simple constitution by providing one display electrode (picture element) with two thin film transistors (TF) and Darlington-connecting, thereby using them. CONSTITUTION:1st and 2nd TFTs 1a and 1b are Darlington-connected. To short-circuit a route between the source and gate electrodes of the 1st TFT1a and a route between its gate and drain electrodes, the source electrode of the 1st TFT1a is electrically isolated from a source electrode wire 3, thereby using the 1st TFT1a as an element with two terminals. Then a gate signal is impressed on the gate electrode of the 2nd TFT1b which transmits a signal from the source electrode wire 3 to a display electrode 4. Thus the remaining TFT can drive the display electrode 4; therefore, the defects of picture elements can be easily compensated.
