Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve reliability such as shock resistance and moisture resistance greatly by covering a driving circuit with insulating organic resin. CONSTITUTION:Data lines 2 and timing lines 3 are formed, thin film transistors (TR) 4 and picture element electrodes 5 which are switched by the thin-film TRs 4 are formed at the intersections of the data lines 3 and timing lines 4 in a matrix, and a data line driving circuit 6 and a timing line driving circuit 7 are formed at the periphery. Then the entire surface is coated with polyimide by spinning and then patterned to form a protective film 12 for the driving circuits 6 and 7. Thus, the driving circuits 6 and 7 are coated with the insulating organic resin, so its shock resistance and moisture resistance are improved greatly.
