Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the electric reliability of a device which uses a flexible wiring board by constituting a terminal arranged at or nearby an endmost part larger in area than any other terminal or as a dummy terminal. CONSTITUTION:A display part 12 is driven by a tape carrier type semiconductor device 1 connected to the peripheral part of a thin film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal panel 11 through a terminal 13. Further, the device 1 is so constituted that a projection electrode 4 is interposed in the internal terminal 3A of a wiring pattern 3 formed on the surface of a base film board 2 and the external terminal of a semiconductor element 5 is connected. Then the terminal 3C arranged at the innermost ends of external terminals 3B and 3C arranged on the board 2 is made larger in area than other terminals 3B to increase its adhesion area, thereby improving its connection strength. Therefore, when heat press-contacting is performed, the connection part of the terminal 3C is not peeled even if the end part of a bonding tool 9 is cooled. Further, even if the board 2 deforms owing to the heat press-contacting, the part is never peeled off.
