Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the misbranching and also to increase the processing speed by estimating the branching destination addresses when the same branching destination address are set by several times in terms of a branching instruction for register qualification. CONSTITUTION:In a writing state the information are received by a branching instruction address register IAR1, a branching destination address register 2 and a register qualifying register 3 respectively. Then some of the addresses sent from the IAR1 are read out as the addresses of branch history table TAA4 and TAB5. When th coincidence of branching destinations is secured by comparators 7 and 8, 0 is written into a table TAC6. Then some of the instruction prefetching addresses sent to the IAR1 in a reading state are used to read the tables TAA4, TAB5 and TAC6. In this case the comparator 7 compares the estimated branching instruction address information given from the TAA4 with the instruction address information given from IR1. Then the information showing that a branching destination can be estimated is sent to a line 117 BETAhen the coincidence is obtained between both address information via the comparator 7 and at the same time the TAC6 is set at 0.
