Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a second plate flat to easily form a cooling passage, to make the whole cooling plate lightweight, and to increase the efficiency of heat transfer by forming a cooling plate of a molten carbonate fuel cell with a first plate and a second plate, and forming recesses and projections which form continuous cooling passages in the first plate. CONSTITUTION:For manufacturing a cooling plate for a molten carbonate fuel cell, a first plate 21 made of stainless steel and a second plate 22 made of stainless steel are prepared. Four corners of the plate 21 are cut off, and recesses 32 and projections 33 which form continuous cooling passages 31 are machined on the plate 21. A groove 34 into which solder is put is machined at the top of each projection 33, and holes 36, 37 for pipelines 35a, 35b are formed in the facing cut-off corners. The plate 22 is formed in the same size as the plate 21 and made thinner than the plate 21. The plate 22 is put on the plate 21 so as to cover the recesses 32 and fixed, then their peripheries are welded airtightly.
