Abstract

PURPOSE: To remove troubles in welding and to improve cooling performance, by forming jointing parts at both ends of a pair of side walls attached to a material to be cooled so as to face to each other, and by pressing the side walls in order to joint the top ends to form a cooling path.
CONSTITUTION: Whole outside periphery of a material 1 to be cooled is machined in order to make a pair of projected side walls 5a, 5b for forming a cooling path. The top ends of the surfaces facing to each other of the side walls 5a, 5b are machined in order to form inclined surfaces 6a, 6b, and a dovetail groove 7 is made in the center of the inclined surface 6a. A Y-shaped jointing piece 8 is formed at the other inclined surface 6b which corresponds to the dovetail groove 7. A seal ring 9 is placed in the center of the jointing piece 8, and the side walls 5a, 5b are pressed with a metal mold or a roller, whereby the jointing piece 8 formed on one inclined surface 6b is inserted into the dovetail groove 7 made on the other inclined surface 6a to form directly a cooling path 10.
