CONSTITUTION:A mold for continuous casting used in casting a bloom by continuous casting is assembled of long-side plate materials 1 and short-side plate materials 2 provided with grooves 6 for cooling water. In this case, both materials 1, 2 are joined on the slope faces having 0-90 deg. angles theta, of which 45 deg. is best. The deformation of both materials due to the thermal expansion by molten steel in the use is reduced and the service life is exteded without producing any small clearance in the joined parts as a result of repeated expansion and shrinkage.
