Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of the water table and environmental pollution by separating the geothermal fluid from a geothermal well into steam and hot water, and by so constituting that, after heating cool water by a part of the hot water and steam to produce hot water, the hot water and the condensate of steam are returned underground through return wells. CONSTITUTION:The downstream side of a steam separator 2 in which the geothermal fluid from a geothermal well is separated into steam and hot water is branched into a hot water processing line and a steam processing line, and in the hot water processing line a hot water heat exchanger 3 by which cool water is heated by exchanging heat is provided. The steam processing line is further branched into a heat recovery system and a steam power-generating system, and in the heat recovery system a steam heat exchanger 7 by which cool water is heated by exchanging heat is provided, and the hot water and drain after condensation coming out from respective heat exchangers 3, 7 are returned underground through return walls 6, 13. On the other hand, in the steam power-generating system a turbine 15 is provided, and the exhaust steam thereof is cooled by cooling water in a condenser 16, and the condensate thereof is returned underground through a return well 19, while the cooling water raised in temperature is cooled by a dry type cooling tower 23.
