Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of the water table and environmental pollution by separating the geothermal fluid from a geothermal well into steam and hot water, and by so constituting that, after the steam passed through a turbine has been condensed, it is returned underground through return wells, while, on the other hand, noncondensed gas is released via a nonpolluting treatment equipment. CONSTITUTION:A steam separator 2 in which the geothermal fluid emitted from a geothermal well is separated into steam and hot water is provided, and the steam separated therein is supplied to a turbine 4. The exhaust steam from the turbine 4 is introduced into a surface condenser 5 as a condenser. And the separated hot water is subjected to heat exchange with cool water to heat it via a hot water heat exchanger 13, and the hot water after completion of the heat exchange is returned underground through return well 16. In the condenser 5, steam is cooled by the cooling water circulating inside the closed flow passage, and the condensate thereof is returned underground through a return well 8, while, on the other hand, the cooling water raised in temperature is cooled by a dry type cooling tower 12. Further, the noncondensed gas left from the condenser 5 is purified by a gas extractor 9 and a desulfurization equipment 10, and then is released.
