Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain low-alloy steel powder for sintering which has good compressibility and can be easily homogenized and highly strengthened at the time of sintering by mixing fine Fe alloy powder consisting of Fe, Cr, Mn, Mo, and Si at a specific ratio with high-Fe iron and steel powders. CONSTITUTION:The fine Fe alloy powder which contains >=30% Fe, >=10% >=1 kinds among Cr, Mn and Mo and 0.7-30% Si, contains 0.01-0.5% B at need and has the average grain size of <=1/5 the average grain size of the above-mentioned iron and steel powders is mixed with the iron and steel powders contg. >=98wt.% Fe at 5-20% of the weight of the above-mentioned iron and steel powders. The low-alloy steel powder for sintering which has the good compressibility, is uniformly dispersed with the alloy components by calcination and forms the sintered body having good hardenability and mechanical strength is thereby obtd.
