Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately designate an unnecessary section to erase an unnecessary signal with a high precision by correcting a start point count value and an end point count value, which are stored in a section storage means, by a constant corresponding to the distance between a reproducing head and an erasing head. CONSTITUTION:When a start point and an end point are designated by a section designating key 22, a memory 14 stores the counted values of a main counter 11 and a subcounter 13, which are controlled by a control circuit 10 to count pulses from a rotation detector 5, as the start point count value and the end point count value respectively.When a section erase key 23 is depressed, a sub-pulse count value corresponding to a distance (d) between a reproducing head 7 and an erasing head 6 is subtracted from the start point count value and the end point count value to correct them, and editing erase is started at the time of coincidence between the counted values of the counters 11 and 13 and the corrected start point count value and is terminated at the time of coincidence between the counted values of the respective counters and the corrected end point count value.
