Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a VTR, which is equipped with a tape counter having simple construction but high accuracy, by providing a counter for counting the servo- control signals of the VTR.
CONSTITUTION: During the recording operation, switches 9 to 11 are connected with contacts a, d and 3 so that the tone pulses read out by a pickup head are fed to a phase comparator 2 to effect the servo-control for the tape running and to record the tone pulses in a control track through a control head 12. At the same time, the tone pulses are reset by the heading of the tape and counted up by a counter 18, which is connected with the servo-system, so that the counted value becomes a value corresponding to the tape position to accurately position the recorded image. If, during the reproducing operation, the switches 9 to 11 are interchanged, the counter 18 counts up or down the tone pulses, which are read out by the head 12, in accordance with the fast forward and rewinding operations. Thus, it is possible to provide a counter which has such a simple construction as can position the tape in high accuracy.
