Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a program searching work for searching a tape position, by storing a reproducing signal in case of running at a high speed, by a clock signal proportional to a running speed of a tape, and reading it out by a clock signal corresponding to a regular reproducing running speed after said storage has ended. CONSTITUTION:A running speed of a magnetic tape 1 is detected by a tape running speed detector 5, it becomes a signal having frequency corresponding to a running speed of a tape, is inputted to a write clock generating circuit 6, and is inputted to a clock changeover switch 7 and a controlling circuit 8. In case of regular reproducing running of a magnetic tape, a read-out clock generating circuit 9 generates a read-out clock having the same frequency as the clock generated by the write clock generating circuit 6, through the tape running speed detector 5, and inputs it to the clock changeover switch 7. The controlling circuit 8 sets a storage device 4 to a write state or a read-out state in accordance with information of the write clock.
