Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a malfunction due to the damage of a magnetic tape, by resetting a counter until the first control signal is reproduced when the control missing arises. CONSTITUTION:The reproduction time is automatically switched by counting the output signal pulses produced from a frequency generator 6 that detects the rotational frequency of a capstan motor proportional to the unit time travelling distance of a magnetic tape 1 in the S.P and S.L.P modes. When the control missing arises, the number of pulses of the generator 6 is unifixed. In this connection, a counter 8 is reset by an NAND circuit 37 in the period during which the first control signal is reproduced from the control missing detection pulse.
