Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent damages of magnetic tape, by providing the 2nd pulse generator and the like generating pulses in synchronizing with the rotation of a reel stand and the 1st pulse generator generating pulses repeated in a given period, and detecting the rotating state of the reel stand.
CONSTITUTION: A reference pulse repeated in a given period is fed to a counter 7 from a pulse generator 8 at recording/reproducing, and the count is started every reset. If the tape run stops due to any cause and the winding reel stand is not turned, since no reset pulse is fed from an amplifier 6, the 1st detected output is given to a filp flop (FF) circuit 9 by the counter 7 counting the reference pulses by N1 units. Thus, the 1st control output which releases back tension is output from a terminal 11 to reduce the load of the reel stand. After that, when the counter 7 further keeps count and the 2nd detected output is given to a FF circuit 10, the 2nd control output is output from the terminal 12 and the tape recorder is at stop mode.
