CONSTITUTION:When the stop signal is generated from automatic stop signal generating circuit 14 at the tape end or the like, control circuit 11 generates the control signal to stop tape recorder mechanism part 12. This signal is applied to muting circuit 37 also, and circuit 37 by-passes pulses generated from pulse generator 13 according to tape running and stops the supply of pulses to counter circuit 15. Consequently, the tape running quantity counting electronic counter is obtained which does not count the tape running quantity due to inertia of the tape recorder mechanism.
