Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize counting of the number of signals in an arbitrary time zone in a train of signals being measured, by comparing the sawtooth waveform using the signal being measured as the trigger signal with the variable reference voltage, and opening the gate to pass the measurement signals for a reference time from the moment of the coincidence.

CONSTITUTION: The signal being measured 10 is amplified by an amplifier 1 to a sufficient voltage to drive a trigger circuit 2 and a gate circuit 8. The circuit 2, only while inhibitting signal is not fed from a trigger inhibit circuit 4, detects the amplified signal 11 of the signal 10, and generates a trigger signal 21. Depending on the signal 21, a sawtooth wave 31 is generated from a sawtooth wave generating circuit 3 and is compared with the voltage 51 generated from a variable reference voltage source 5 by a comparator 6. When the signals coincide with each other, according to a coincidence signal 61, the signal 71 is outputted for the reference time by the reference time generating circuit 7, and is inputted into the gate circuit 8. On the other hand, the other input to the circuit 8 is the signal 11, which passes through the circuit 8 for a specified reference time to be counted by a counter circuit 9. Thus, the number of signals in an arbitrary time zone in a train of complicated signals may be measured easily.
