Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a quick operation possible to shorten the detection time considerably, by using the period detection for detection of a low-frequency pilot signal used in the AM stereo broadcast. CONSTITUTION:A pilot signal detector 6 of an AM stereo receiver is provided with a waveform converter 8, and an inputted phase detection output is converted to a pulse waveform by this converter 8. A voltage corresponding to the period of the pulse signal is generated by a synchronizing voltage converter 9 to which the pulse waveform is inputted, and a voltage comparator 10 detects whether the output voltage of the converter 9 is in a prescribed voltage range or not, and a detection signal (a) is applied to a latch circuit 11 to which the pulse waveform from the converter 8 is inputted. The output of this circuit 11 inputted to a gate circuit 12 and is gated by a detection signal (b) from the comparator 10 to output a pilot signal by period detection. Thus, the detection operation for the pilot signal is accelerated to shorten the detection time.
