CONSTITUTION:Automatic stop signal generating circuit 14 to which the control signal is supplied from control circuit 11 generates the stop signal when pulse generating circuit 13 detects the stop of generation of pulses accompanied with tape running due to tape running stop at the tape end. The tape recorder is stopped auto- matically through circuit 11 by this stop signal, and reset circuit 19 is triggerred. Then, counter circuit 15 which counts pulses generated from circuit 13 to calculate the tape running quantity is reset automatically by the reset pulse from circuit 19. Consequently, counter circuit 15 is reset automatically when tape running is stopped at the tape end, and the tape running quantity counting electronic counter easy to use is obtained.
