Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of detection of an initial marker by measuring the tape quantity which has run forward and detecting the tape initial marker only when the same tape quantity is rewound in backward running.
CONSTITUTION: When a tape runs forward and when the pulse number of the CAPSPULSE-P signal by the revolution of a capstan and the pulse number of the REVSTA-P signal when the tape is run backward coincide, an UP/DOWN counter 9 becomes "H" level in its output, thus resetting an FF circuit 10. The circuit 10 has been set by the FWD STA-P signal which is obtainable at the forward running of the tape and therefore when a set signals enters this circuit, the output 1 side becomes "H" level and when the PREBOT-P signal obtainable by detecting the tape initial marker becomes "H" level, the output signal BOT-P of an AND circuit 11 becomes "H" and therefore it is only at this time that the detection of the initial marker is acknowledged. Thereby, the reliability of the tape initial marker detection may be improved.
