Abstract

PURPOSE:To smoothly run a vehicle by imaging a spline function curve between a start point and a target point and controlling the steering angle to that the vehicle runs based on this curve. CONSTITUTION:A camera 2 is attached to a vehicle 1 whose running is controlled by a steering controller so that the image of the front of the vehicle 1 in the running direction can be picked up, and the vehicle 1 is provided with front wheels 3 whose steering is controlled and rear wheels 4 which are rotated and driven by a motor. The steering controller consists of a vehicle detecting part 10, a running control part 11, a course information part 12, a steering control part 13, a running driving part 14, and a steering driving part 15. In this case, a curve is set in a preliminarily determined prescribed section in accordance with a spline function and the vehicle 1 is run on the basis of this curve. Thus, the vehicle is smoothly run without rolling neither meandering.
