Abstract
PURPOSE:With a vehicle made to steer with both front and rear wheels, it is designed to prevent variation of turning deameter at change of running speed of the relevant turning vehicle by method of detecting the turning speed and then to organize arrangement of the rear wheel steering upon result of such detection. CONSTITUTION:The turning motion of a running vehicle is detected by the sensor 10. Further variation of the running speed will be detected by the sensor 11. Signals from these sensors 10, 11 are processed by the computor 12 so as too be used for the control of servo actuator 13 of the relevant motors to restrict operation of tie- rod 8 which has been submitted for direct line movement by a gear box 14 to steer rear wheels on both left and right sides. At this time, in its accelerated driving, the computer 12 of front wheel driving vehicles steers the rear wheels 7 outwardedly to the turning direction in reverse to the front wheels 6. On the other hand, at its slowing down driving, the computor 12 controls the rear wheels 7 to run being steered inwardly to the same tunning directin of the front wheels 6. With this method, variation of turning diameter arising from change of speed is prevented.
