Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body having an excellent sensitivity and potential stability at the time of durable use by incorporating a specific azo pigment into a pohtosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The azo pigment which is expressed by formula I and has the structure in which an org. residual group is bonded to a substd. or unsubstd. arom. hydrocarbon ring or arom. heterocycle which may be bonded via a bond group is incorporated into the photosensitive layer. In formula I, X denotes a residual group necessary for forming the arom. hydrocarbon ring or arom. heterocycle which may have a substituent by condensing to a benzene ring. R1 denotes a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, aryl group or aralkyl group; R2, R3 denote a hydrogen atom, cyano group, acyl group; R2 and R3 may be the same or different. The electrophotographic sensitive body having the practicable high sensitivity characteristic and the stable potential characteristic in repetitive use is thereby obtd.
