Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent generation of static electricity in a thermal head, by providing a conductive terminal capable of making contact with the surface of heat generating resistors of the thermal head, at an end part of a feeding path of a printing part of the head, and electrically grounding the conductive terminal. CONSTITUTION:At a right end part of a feeding path for printing of a thermal head 1, a conductive terminal 3 is provided in the state of being able to make contact with the surface provided with heat generating resistors of the head, and is electrically grounded. When the head 1 is fed to reach the position of the conductive terminal 3 provided at the right end part, static electricity generated in the head during the feeding is discharged through the terminal 3. Therefore, breakage of a thermal recording paper or breakage of the head due to static electrification is obviated, and reliability of a thermal recorder for long- time continuous printing or high-speed printing can be enhanced greatly.
