Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a superconducting wire with excellent superconducting characteristic and required strength and flexibility economically by filling a powdery composite oxide superconducting material containing CuyOy group in a cavity formed with a nickel film and wire-drawing and heat-treating it. CONSTITUTION:A nickel film 3 is formed by plating on the inner periphery of the cavity 2 of a sheath tube 1, a powdery superconducting material 4 is filled in the cavity 2, and an opening 2a is closed with a cap 5 made of Ni alloy. This sheath tube 1 is then wire-drawn by a rolling machine, the superconducting material 4 as a core material is coated with a copper layer 7, and an element wire containing a nickel film 3 between the superconducting material 4 and the copper layer 7 is obtained. This element wire is heated to 900 deg.C and kept for 1hr then gradually cooled to the ordinary temperature at the speed of 8 deg.C/mm. The oxygen content in the superconducting material is not deprived of by the copper layer side, thereby a superconducting wire with the excellent superconducting characteristic and the required strength and flexibility can be obtained economically.
