Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain crystalline structure uniform over the whole length to improve a superconductive characteristic and besides to upgrade mechanical strength, by producing intermetallic compound fiber longitudinally to form an alloy tube and filling this tube with peroxide powder and next by shrinking the tube and providing it with heat treatment on a pressure state. CONSTITUTION:A one-way solidification method is used to orientate Cu-Y intermetallic compound fiber longitudinally to produce rod-shaped Cu-Y alloy ingot 5. Next the ingot 5 is provided with a boring process so that an alloy tube 6 is produced. This alloy tube 6 is filled with BaO2 powder 7 and it is shrunk by processes such as extrusion and drawing to obtain a composite wire 8. Next a plurality of these composite wires 8 are assembled and they are inserted into a tube 9 made of Cu or Cu-Y. After this tube 9 is shrunk, the tube is provided with heat treatment in which it is heated in an oxygen atmosphere, so that a superconductive wire 10 of multicore structure is obtained. Accordingly a fibrous superconductor can be thus obtained with crystal structure uniform continuously over the whole length and besides with upgraded mechanical strength.
