Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption when the output is cut off by using a 1st transistor TR which produces a reference current and a 2nd TR which produces a current accordant with the base-emitter voltage that increases and decreases according to the increase/decrease of the voltage produced at a current detecting resistance and supplies this current to an output control circuit. CONSTITUTION:The bases of PNP TR Q3 and Q4 forming a current mirror circuit 5 are connected in common to each other and the emitters of both TRs are connected to both ends of a current detecting resistance R1 respectively. The TR Q3 has the diode connection, that is, the base and the collector of the TR Q3 are connected in common to each other and the collector is connected to a constant current source which produces a reference current I1. In such connections, the TR Q4 outputs an output control current I2 which increases or decreases in response to the increase/decrease of the current flowing to the R1. Then an output cut-off TR Q5 is controlled by the current I2 and also controls its output with control of an error amplifier 4. As a result, the power loss is reduced.
