Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a sufficient shock absorbing ability by providing a top underframe with a cross beam and a bolster which are parallel each other, arranging a plural number of buffer tube with its one end being pin-connected between the opposite surfaces of the above cross beam and the bolster, and providing each buffer tube with a stress concentration mechanism on its pin-connected end. CONSTITUTION:In a top underframe 1 of the super-express railways, a coupler mounting part 2 which is formed on its top center is provided on its rear side with a cross beam 4 with its both ends being fixed to a side mechanism 3. A bolster 5 with its both ends being expanded straightly is also provided parallel to the cross beam 4 on the rear side at a predetermined distance from it, and this bolster 5 is reinforced by a reinforcing plate 6 extending rearward from the top surface of the center portion. A plural number of buffer tube 7 are also arranged parallel at the center of each opposite side surface between the cross beam 4 and the bolster 5, and one end of each buffer tube 7 is connected to the cross beam 4 through a pin 11 and the other end is directly connected to the bolster 5. In addition, on the pin-connected end side of each buffer tube 7, a stress concentration mechanism 14 in which the internal circumference of an opening on the pin-connected side is formed into a plural number of inclined face is provided.
