Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable decision on a bend of a pipeline in a short time, by detecting a light beam emitted from a linear beam projector provided at one end of an existing pipeline with a light receiver provided at the other end. CONSTITUTION:A linear beam projector 20 is so set to emit a light beam near one open end of an existing pipeline 10 along the axis thereof 10 and a light receiver 30 at the other end thereof. Then, the light beam from the projector 20 is detected with the light receiver 30 to decide a bend of the pipeline 10. This enables quantitative judgement of the bend of the pipeline 10 automatically, simply by setting the projector 20 and the light receiver 30 near both open ends of the pipeline 10, thereby allowing decision on the state of the bend of the pipeline 10 accurately in a short time requiring no skill.
