Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the air permeability and liquid permeability in a region where the packing condition of furnace ore coke layers is locally deteriorated by stopping the combustion of tuyeres in the direction opposite to the deteriorated region so that the combustion balance in the circumferential direction is deviated when the above- mentioned condition is deteriorated. CONSTITUTION:The blast furnace operation is carried out by properly charging solid reducing agents to the axial center part region of the ore layers in the blast furnace or properly charging the solid reducing agents suitable for improving air permeability and liquid permeability to the axial center part region of the solid reducing agents. The combustion at the tuyeres in the direction opposite by about 180 deg. to the region where the packing condition is deteriorated is stopped or the output thereof is lowered to deviate the combustion balance in the circumferential direction when a deviation arises in the air permeability and liquid permeability by the local or one-sided deterioration of the packing condition of the furnace core reducing agent layers at this time. The axial center charge solid reducing agents are thereby supplied to the furnace core part side in the direction of the deteriorated region, by which the furnace core part solid reducing agents can be renewed and the fluctuation in the furnace body temp. generated by the deviation in the furnace condition is eliminated.
