Abstract

PURPOSE:To form polyimide thin film having uniform thickness by bonding a specified thin film of silylated polyamide acid to the surface of a base material to form one body, then producing a laminated body of polyimide thin film by imidizing the afore-mentioned thin film. CONSTITUTION:A soln. of silylated polyamide acid consisting of recurrent units expressed by formula I (wherein each X, Y, and Z is methyl, ethyl, isopropyl, t-butyl, or phenyl; Ar1 is an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid residue; Ar2 is an aromatic diamine residue) is spread on water surface to form a thin film. Then, a base material such as plastic film, nonwoven fabric, metal foil, film material, ceramic plate, etc., is brought into contact with said thin film to bond said thin film integrally to said base material. The thin film is then imidized, producing thus a laminated body of thin film of polyimide.
