Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity of a photosensitive body, to lower residual potential, and to reduce deterioration of characteristics due to repeated uses by using a specified hydrazone derivative as an electric charge transfer material. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body contains as the charge transfer material at least one of the hydrazone derivatives represented by formula I in which each of X1-X8 is halogen, lower alkyl, or the like; each of X8-X12 is halogen, lower alkoxy, or the like; each of Ar1 and Ar2 is an aromatic ring having an aliphatic group independent of each other or combined with each other to form a ring together with an N atom represented by formula II; each of X13-X18 is halogen, lower alkyl, or the like. It is preferred to use this hydrazone derivative, such as a compound of formula III, in combination with phthalocyanine as the charge generating material and to form the laminate type photosensitive layer composed of the charge generating layer and the charge transfer layer.
