Abstract
PURPOSE:To secure the detection of occurring corrosion by guiding infrared rays from the internal wall of a pipe which is heated by a heater to an infrared sensor, and controlling the path of the infrared ray between the pipe inside and infrared sensor and scanning the pipe inside. CONSTITUTION:The unit formed by coupling a wire 50, a heater part 20, a scanning part 30, and a fiber part 40 is inserted into the pipe 10 and moved in the pipe 10 while rotated at an equal speed; and the internal wall is heated under uniform conditions and the infrared ray from the internal wall 11 is guided to the infrared sensor by a mirror 33 and the optical fiber 43. A corrosion part after heating is smaller in heat capacity than a part where no corrosion is caused, so the temperature is higher and the infrared-ray radiation quantity is larger. Then the output of the infrared sensor when the corrosion part is scanned becomes larger than the output corresponding to the part where no corrosion exits and the corrosion part is securely detected according to the output of the infrared sensor.
