Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a superconducting transformer having a high power conversion efficiency and no local heating by disposing a superconductor plate or a thin film at a place where an eddy current loss occurs due to a generated magnetic flux or an unnecessary magnetic flux is passed. CONSTITUTION:A platelike or foillike superconducting conductor 4 which becomes a superconducting state at liquid nitrogen temperature is attached to the whole inner wall face of a tank 3 for containing a winding 1 and a core 2, etc. Then, since the magnetic flux which tends to pass through the wall of the tank 3 by the magnetic flux generated from the winding 1 is all extruded by the Meissner effect of the conductor 4, no eddy current is generated in the wall of the tank 3. Thus, a superconducting transformer which has high power conversion efficiency and no local heating is obtained.
