Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain high speed switching and to reduce a through-current of a totempole output by giving a difference to threshold voltages of two transistors(TRs) at the input stage. CONSTITUTION:Let a forward voltage of PN junction be VD, the threshold voltage of the emitter of a 1st TR Q1 be 3VD and the threshold voltage of the emitter of a 2nd TR Q2 be 2VD. When the emitter level of the 1st and 2nd TRs Q1, Q2 transits from a low to a high level, a 5th TR Q5 is turned on earlier than a 3rd TR Q3 and the collector voltage of the 5th TR Q5 goes to a low level, then a 4th TR Q4 is turned on after a 6th TR Q6 of the totempole output is turned off. Thus, the time when both the 4th and 6th TRs Q4, Q6 are turned on simultaneously is decreased and the through-current is reduced.
