Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a connecting terminal for an oxide superconductor with firm connection and low connection resistance by integrally connecting the oxide superconductor and a metal body forming the connecting terminal by the mutual diffusion of the metal component in the oxide superconductor and the metal component of the metal body. CONSTITUTION:A metal body 11 serving as a connecting terminal after completion is a powder metal body adhesively provided on an oxide superconductor 1, e.g., silver powder metal body. The oxide superconductor 1 and the silver powder metal body 11 are then heated so that the respective metal components are mutually diffused in a high-temperature furnace. In the connecting terminal for the oxide superconductor 1 formed through such process, the respective metal components of the oxide superconductor 1 and the metal body 11 are mutually diffused, thus firm connection is obtained. The connecting terminal with small connection resistance of 0.12mOMEGA.cm<2> (measured value) is obtained. The connection resistance is made about 1/100 or less of the conventional connection resistance, the mechanical strength can be increased, and the soldering can be performed.
