Abstract

CONSTITUTION: At least one of the oxides of Ti, Hf, and Zr is coated by a plasma- frame coating method on the surface of a metal base of Fe-Ni alloy, etc., having a thermal expansion similar to that of the oxides. Thus, an insoluble electrode which is excellent in processability, conductivity, strength, and other chracteristics, as well as free of elution in electric field during various types of electrolysis, e.g., saline electrolysis, metal electrolysis, electric dialysis, etc., can be obtained at low cost.
