Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a combined contact material excellent in welding property and welding strength, by preparing an Ru-Pd alloy as a base material and combining it with a Pt-Ir alloy.
CONSTITUTION: An Ru-Pd alloy containing 1W18% of Ru is prepared as a base material 1. The Ru-Pd alloy is combined with a Pt-Ir alloy 2 by cladding or the like. Since the Ru-Pd alloy of a contact 3 originally used as a contact material, the function of the contact is not lost even if the Pt-Ir alloy is displaced or worn out. The Ru-Pd alloy is has the same hardening heat treatment conditions as the Pt-Ir alloy and excels in welding property. Therefore, a prescribed strength is attained when the Ru-Pd alloy is attached to a mount 4. The Ru-Pd alloy is harder to oxidize than an Fe material and an Ni alloy and stable welding conditions can be attained for the Ru-Pd alloy.
