Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce wear in a vane mounting seat due to water containing earth and sand by forming a vane mounting flange leading edge in a curved surface shape, having a radius of curvature in a value of implanting height or less from an upstream side flow path wall, while a flange trailing edge in a curved line having a smaller radius of curvature. CONSTITUTION:Water is introduced from a pressure pipe to a runner through a stay vane and a turnable guide vane 2, rotating the runner and a main shaft. The guide vane 2 forms a leading edge part 2c of its mounting flange 2a in a circular arc of radius of curvature r1 smaller than implanting height (h) of the flange 2a, measured from an upstream side flow path wall, in a manner wherein in the height H, a tangent 9 of a flange surface forms an angle of about 60 deg. with an upstream side flow path 7. While the flange 2a forms its trailing edge 2c in a circular arc of radius of curvature r2(<r1). The flange 2a is formed in such a manner as to connect the leading edge of the circular arc to its trailing edge by a straight line 2f.
