Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled developing member which is superior in toner electrostatic charging quantity, toner separation performance, wear resistance, etc., by providing a 1st coating layer formed of an elastic body on a base and a 2nd coating layer formed of synthetic resin thereupon. CONSTITUTION:The 1st coating layer 8' formed on the elastic body on a mandrel 7 serving as the base and the 2nd coating layer 8'' formed of the flexible synthetic resin thereupon are provided. Then the elastic body forming the 1st coating layer 8' has it volume resistivity preferably in an intermediate resistance area. Further, the 2nd coating layer 8'' is the uppermost layer of the developing member which contacts toner, so a flexible synthetic resin layer is preferably which has good separation performance with respect to the toner and the volume resistivity of the same level with the elastic body layer.
