Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an organic photosensitive body high in printing resistance and long in life by forming the photosensitive body having an electric charge generating layer composed of a charge generating material, a binder resin, and an isocyanate compound. CONSTITUTION:The organic photosensitive body has the electric charge generating layer composed of the charge generating material, the binder resin, and the isocyanate compound. For example, when polyvinyl butyral is used as the binder resin and heated in the presence of the isocyanate compound, the hydroxyl groups of the polyvinyl butyral react with the isocyanate groups of the isocyanate compound and form covalent bonds between them, and when the isocyanate compound has >=2 isocyanate groups in one molecule and react with >=2 polyvinyl butyral molecules, the polyvinyl butyral molecules are cross- linked, hardness and strength and the like to be enhanced, and the charge generating layer composed of the charge generating material, the binder resin, and the isocyanate compound to form a tough film and to enhance printing resistance.
