Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the extraction efficiency of carbon dioxide and to measure a carbon content with high accuracy by enclosing a throttling mechanism and piping between a reactor and extractor with foamed plastic materials. CONSTITUTION:A sample liquid to which a reaction liquid is added is fed into a deaerator 8 and is deaerated by an inert gas. The deaerated sample liquid is heated by the reactor 12. The carbon dioxide in the sample liquid is extracted into the inert gas for extraction by the extractor 17 and the inert gas for extraction is fed into an IR analyzer 20 where the carbon dioxide content is measured by an IR analysis. The throttling mechanism 18 for increasing the reaction pressure in the reactor 12 is provided in the flow passage which directs the sample liquid from the reactor 12 to the extractor 17. The throttling mechanism 18 and piping 16 between the reactor 12 and the extractor 17 are enclosed by the foamed plastic materials 21, 22. The sample liquid in the state of a high temp. after heating to the high temp. in the reactor 12 is then kept in this state up to the extractor 17. The efficiency of the carbon dioxide extraction is thereby improved and the carbon content is measured with the high accuracy.
